Brianna Chickenfry is still a hot topic of conversation after dropping the explosive BFFs Podcast episode last week, where she detailed the alleged emotional abuse her ex-boyfriend, Zach Bryan, put her through. The public breakup has been dominating the headlines, and I am sure you all know parts of the story since it’s all over, not only in the country music scene but also in the pop culture scene – everyone and their mother is covering this news.
Last week, Brianna did not shy away from sharing her story. She laid it all out for viewers to hear, noting that ZB offered her an astonishing $12 MILLION (yes, you read that right—million!) to sign an NDA, how he freaked out on her for singing a Morgan Wallen song, and she detailed other toxic aspects of their relationship.
Since the episode dropped, fans have been reacting all over social media, and Brianna has received a lot of praise for her bravery in sharing her story. Zach Bryan has yet to comment on the BFFs Podcast. However, he did release a new song, “High Road,” as last week’s episode aired.
Given that many bombs were dropped during that podcast, the BFFs crew, composed of Brianna Chickenfry, Josh Richards, and Dave Portnoy, are sitting down again to tie up some loose ends and speak about this situation for the last time. In a podcast teaser, Bri explained that her choice to share this story and experience was “so much bigger than Zach”:
“This is so much bigger than Zach… and that’s why I shared it.”
Josh applauded Brianna for her choice because so many women and men could relate to what she went through and take her story to hopefully empower themselves.
“That’s what was so powerful, I think, about it, Bri. I think girls across the globe are able to be like, ‘Holy sh*t, we can do this. We can stick up for ourselves.’ Like, you made a decision that was bigger than yourself when you said, ‘I’m gonna decline this money and do this.’”

While most of the episode discussed Brianna’s bravery, there was a segment in which Brianna brought up a few things that she did not discuss in the initial episode, like how everyone in ZB’s camp excuses his behavior and are all “yes men.” But at one point, she mentioned something that perked up my ears. She insinuated that ZB has cheated throughout all of his relationships.
Of course, this is a stereotype among musicians as they are on the road, miss their loved ones, and live that wild rock and roll lifestyle. But Brianna speaks on this as if all of these past lovers might have known this was happening yet chose to stay with him.
Bri dives into the segment by discussing some of the backlash on the internet, with folks saying that “she knew” what she was getting into.
“‘It’s has all out there; it’s in his lyrics.’ No. None of his exes have ever came forward about anything. In his lyrics? I’m sorry he says that he’s an alcoholic and he’s going to disappoint you in his lyrics. He doesn’t say what he’s actually going to do to you in his lyrics.”
Brianna says that argument makes her so angry because it alleges that his fans know he abuses women and still lets his behaviors slide. She questions his fanbase for flipping the script on her (if they truly believed all the signs were there) when they could have warned her to get out.
Bri then dives into some other commentary she’s been hearing on the internet about him needing a “break from being in a relationship.” This is where she goes in on him for allegedly cheating on all of his girlfriends.
“This man has been single since he’s been married. He’s been cheating on everyone, every single relationship the whole time. This man has never been in a relationship. My boy’s been single his whole life. It’s crazy. My guy is single forever.”
Josh Richards responds with a long “yeah,” but Dave then changes the topic of conversation.
Screenshots circulating on social media right before the two split, which showed that ZB was allegedly DMing girls before he and Brianna moved to Massachusetts, but Brianna does not disclose whether that is true.
While I am sure this is not the last allegation we will hear against ZB, and the truth lies somewhere in the middle, as there are two sides to every story, I’d love for ZB to speak out on this matter and share his experience one day. Right now, the picture that is being painted about him does not look good.
