Gonna have their biggest viewership numbers in history?
The day after an election is always interesting to watch, with half the country melting down about how it’s the worst day ever and the other half celebrating at the end of a hard-fought election season.
Of course today it’s supporters of GOP nominee Donald Trump who are celebrating, as the former president sailed to victory over Vice President Kamala Harris and won re-election. With Trump’s return to the White House, he’ll become the first president to be elected to non-consecutive terms since Grover Cleveland back in 1893.
Those of us who supported and voted for Donald Trump are obviously happy with the results. But on the other side, there are quite a few people who are melting down over Trump’s re-election – including the hosts of ABC’s The View.
The show is well known for their liberal political takes, and some of their insane political analysis has gone viral in the past for just how batshit crazy their takes can be.
For the most part though, it’s just a liberal echo chamber that’s catering to their hyper partisan audience. I don’t think there are many Republicans who tune into The View – until today.
Trump supporters over on Twitter were tuning in for the first time ever, just to watch the meltdown from the hosts.
Right off the bat, hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro came out dressed all in black, leaving Whoopi Goldberg as the only one who didn’t look like she was attending a funeral:
And the hosts didn’t disappoint, clearly stunned and pulling out all the usual excuses like racism, misogyny and uneducated voters.
I love being called uneducated when I have done my own research and my opinion doesn’t align with yours. #TheView pic.twitter.com/30QfQyoW9I

Host Sunny Hostin said she was “profoundly disturbed” by the results, pointing out that Trump was a convicted felon and claiming that she somehow has fewer rights now that Trump’s president:
The hosts of The View are currently having an epic meltdown live on television.
This is the best thing you'll watch all day. ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/gFQd85kkQ4

It was pretty much what you’d expect from the braintrust over there, but after a long election cycle, Trump supporters couldn’t help but tune in for a little comic relief:
Anyone know what time and channel The View is on??? It’s going to be amazing!!!

If you are not watching The View right now, you are not doing it right.
There are actual tears coming out of my TV right now. And I am LOVING it! pic.twitter.com/FkbU0L8z8X

The view is about to have the biggest ratings in their history thanks to Donald Trump 😂 pic.twitter.com/jTBFqLPdBr

I don't always watch The View, but when I do it's because Trump won the election and I want to see the hysteria!

There were also some Trump supporters who argued that they should give the show the ratings boost from hate-watching…
I knew @TheView would be trending this morning.
Not worth my time. Not worth your time. They are elitists who do not at all understand average Americans.
You may find it entertaining to watch. I find it nauseating and narrow-minded.

And others who pointed out that if the show really wanted to be taken seriously, they would have had at least ONE Trump supporter on there to explain the other side of the debate.
It is actual malfeasance on the part of ABC news that there isn't one single conservative woman on The View this morning who voted for Trump or simply isn't repulsed by his supporters to explain to America why he is still so popular.

Wild times.
Of course this all comes after a wild election cycle that saw a surprisingly decisive victory for President Trump in what was expected to be a close race that dragged on for days as votes were counted. But with Harris underperforming Joe Biden in just about every demographic, including Latinos and women, the election ended up being called overnight by most major outlets.
It also marks the first time that Trump appears to have won the popular vote, which had provided some hope for Democrats in past elections when they could simply blame the electoral college to explain his victory.
Regardless of which side you’re on though, congratulations on making it through another election cycle.
