I think Lainey Wilson finally met her match.
Over the weekend, she played shows in North Carolina and Georgia as part of her Country’s Cool Again tour trek, and in Raleigh, she met a very special girl named Savannah.
Savannah had a sign that read:
“Lainey, my daddy bet me a horse trailer if I get onstage.”
Of course, Lainey pulled her up onstage to be her “Cowgirl of the Night,” which she’s been doing at every show on the tour. She brings a little girl from the crowd up with her to the stage, introduces them to everyone, and gifts the fan with a Lainey Wilson-styled cowgirl hat to match one of hers.
It’s really sweet, and in addition to all of that, she’ll have them recite her mantra to the crowd like so:
“I am beautiful. I am smart. I am talented. I can do anything. I am Cowgirl of the Night!”
Little did Lainey know, though, that Savannah was not shy at all like some kids understandably are in front of thousands of strangers, and was beyond thrilled to get up there and talk to Lainey. Savannah told Lainey that her dad is a farmer just like Lainey’s:
“You’re my favorite singer alive! And my favorite song is ‘Heart Like A Truck.’ My daddy is a farmer, he does hard work for me and he raised me up as a farmer and I love him.”
Precious…
She also wanted to give Lainey her phone number, and started to rattle it off in front of the crowd, though Lainey stopped her before she got it all out and had her write it down instead.
Savannah knew what she wanted when she got up there, and certainly didn’t let the opportunity pass her by without getting it, and as Lainey said to the crowd, she’s going to be very successful one day because of that:
“She knows what she wants. I’m gonna tell you right here, this girl is gonna be successful. I’m not even playin’. She is a go-getter.”
She even asked Lainey if they could sing together, and after a few lines of “Atta Girl,” Lainey had her sing some of her favorite song, “Heart Like A Truck,” and Savannah absolutely let it rip. Lainey told the crowd:
“Y’all, I’ve met my match…”
I think she’s certainly right about that.
Definitely take a few minutes to watch this, it’s adorable and I sure hope Savannah’s dad went trailer shopping the next day… I have a sneaking suspicion he was going to do it regardless, and wanted to help Savannah get onstage either way, and she certainly made him proud once she got up there:
