How in the hell did a moose get there?
That’s what the Bedford Fire Department in Bedford, New Hampshire was trying to figure out when they got a call that a moose was trapped in someone’s in-ground, covered swimming pool. They quickly discovered that the large animal (males can weigh over 1,000 pounds) had walked out onto the cover and fallen through, causing it to get stuck underneath the cover in the partially filled pool.
An animal of a moose’s size and stature would normally be able to free itself from a situation like this, but the cover still being on the pool meant that the large antlered animal was going to need some assistance. So that’s when the professionals were called in to help, and that they did.
As explained in the caption of the post, the Bedford Fire Department and Police simply removed the cover from the pool and the moose was able to figure out the rest:
“A moose was seen taking a swim in an in-ground pool in Bedford, New Hampshire. The Bedford Fire Department responded and were able to remove the pool cover to free the moose. The moose appeared to be uninjured and was able to exit the pool under his own power.”
I can’t imagine how scared that moose must have felt after it fell through the tarp covering of the pool.
Those that stumbled upon the video online were puzzled as to how the moose got stuck, though most on the internet were happy to see that the wild animal trotted away under its own power afterwards – albeit a little embarrassed:
“How/Why/What did he do to get UNDER a covered fenced-in, in-ground pool?”
“He looks embarrassed looking at all the cameras.”
“Rescued? Or interrupted?”
“A real class act to leave after that.”
“I can’t believe not one person commented “The Moose Is Loose” on this comments section. What a terrible time to be alive.”
