The one guy everybody wanted to hear from right now.
Of course the country music world was shocked yesterday when a lawsuit was filed against country superstar Garth Brooks accusing him of sexual assault and rape.
The disturbing allegations were made by a makeup artist and hairstylist who formerly worked for Trisha Yearwood, and began working for Garth around 2017. She claims that in 2019, she arrived at Brooks’ house to do his hair and makeup but was greeted by a naked Garth walking out of the shower with an erect penis. She says he forced her to touch him and encouraged her to perform oral sex, telling her that he had fantasized about this moment and wanted to “come all over her face,” especially while she wore her glasses.
She claims she was naturally horrified and said no, but continued to work for him, as she needed the money.
Then, she alleges that she accompanied Garth on a trip to Los Angeles for a GRAMMY tribute to Sam Moore, where the singer booked only one hotel room and violently raped her.
The complaint is extremely graphic and disturbing, and alleges that the plaintiff has text messages, emails and audio recordings to support her claims.
Garth has, of course, denied the claims, calling them an attempt at extortion:
“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face.
Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of – ugly acts no human should ever do to another.
We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.
I want to play music tonight. I want to continue our good deeds doing forward. It breaks my heart these wonderful things are in question now. I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be.”
Meanwhile online, folks have been patiently waiting for a response from one person: Comedian Tom Segura.
Now, if you’re not familiar with the connection between Segura and Garth, it all started back in 2018 when Segura and his wife, fellow comedian Christina Pazsitzky, hosts of the Your Mom’s House podcast, stumbled upon the bizarre announcement video for Garth’s Stadium Tour.
If you don’t remember, here’s a refresher…

Thanks to that video, Tom and Christina P began joking that Garth must be a serial killer with somewhere in the neighborhood of 200-300 bodies buried in his yard.
And the rest was history.
It’s since become a long-running joke, with any mention of Garth drawing responses of “where are the bodies?” and the singer being forced to turn off comments on all of his social media accounts.
Garth is even reportedly aware of the joke, though he’s never addressed it publicly, and apparently he’s not a fan of it.
According to Segura, Garth has blocked him on Instagram, and he’s been told that the singer doesn’t understand the bit:
“First I got word about a year ago from a 100% reliable source… I was like, ‘Does he know?’ And they’re like ‘Oh yeah, yeah. He knows.’ And I was like, ‘Is he upset?’
And they’re like, ‘He just doesn’t get it. Doesn’t know why you’re talking about him.’ I was like, ‘Okay.’
And then recently… he just blocked me on Instagram. And I was like, oh, he finally blocked me.”
But that’s not all: Segura has also been told that any time somebody brings it up, Garth will pull out the famous video of Segura taking a nasty fall playing basketball and tell them it’s “karma” for everything Tom has said about him:
“And another person told me, this person said to me that they heard from a reliable source that when my name comes up to him, that he on his phone shows the video of me playing basketball and falling, and he goes, ‘Karma.’
I was like, that’s fuckin’, pretty amazing. That a serial killer is finding it in their heart to say ‘Karma’ to the other person.
This man has, I mean, people are saying this man is responsible for hundreds of missing people and he’s gonna say that it’s karma?”
So that’s the story of Garth and Tom Segura, which leads us up to today.
After the new allegations, Tom has been tagged countless times on social media and apparently got quite a few text messages too. And he finally took to Twitter to give his reaction:
“So many people have texted me about Garth, you’d think I did something.”
And the account for his podcast, Your Mom’s House, also took a shot at Garth:

Now, it’s obviously a sensitive subject giving the disturbing nature of the allegations, so it’ll be interesting to see if Tom has any further reaction on his podcast.
But for now, I can pretty much guarantee that his joke about Garth being a serial killer is only going to pick up steam all over the internet.
