Zach Bryan Deactivates His Twitter Account (Again) After Drunkenly Tweeting That Kanye Is Better Than Taylor Swift

Annnnd he’s gone…again.

Zach Bryan seems to have a love/hate relationship with Twitter (or X, whatever you call it these days).

The country music superstar likes to post a lot of stream-of-consciousness thoughts on Twitter (apparently when he’s drunk – we’ll get to that in a minute), and when he starts getting backlash for them, instead of just ignoring the tweets, Zach will jump in and start defending himself, try to clear things up, and eventually just deactivate his account for a while. Rinse, repeat.

And it looks like it happened again.

It all started yesterday when Zach posted a string of tweets about controversial rapper Kanye West. At first he tweeted that he “misses Ye everyday,” before clarifying that while he doesn’t support Ye’s controversial beliefs and statements, he misses his music:

“Don’t support Ye, I miss Ye.”

He then upset the Swifties when he tweeted that “Kanye > Taylor.” (Obviously Kanye and Taylor have their own history after the infamous VMA Awards moment).

Well not only did Taylor Swift’s rabid fanbase begin to come at him, but so did folks upset that Zach would publicly support an artist like Kanye with his history of antisemitic comments:

Zach even tried to do damage control with the Swifties, tweeting about his love for Taylor and her music (although her fans still weren’t happy because he wasn’t listening to “Taylor’s version” of her music…)

Zach also admitted that he was drunk when he was tweeting about Kanye, which always seems to be when he tweets things that get him in trouble…

And eventually, the singer decided that he had enough – and nuked his entire account.

Like clockwork.

Of course I’m sure he’ll be back again in the future, repeat the cycle, and deactivate again. Seems to be a trend at this point, which just goes to show why artists should never read the comments or engage with the trolls.

We’ll miss you Zach, enjoy your Twitter break, however long it ends up being this time.
