Posty’s stepping into the circle.

Post Malone has been making his entry into country music in a big way lately, scoring the #1 song on the charts with his debut country single and duet with Morgan Wallen “I Had Some Help,” leading up to the release of his country album F-1 Trillion on August 16.

Thanks to an accidental leak from Target, we know that the album includes collaborations with country legends like Dolly Parton and Hank Williams Jr., and will also feature names like Tim McGraw, Billy Strings, Sierra Ferrell, HARDY, ERNEST, and Lainey Wilson to go along with previously-announced collabs with Luke Combs, Blake Shelton and Chris Stapleton.

The album will also feature a collaboration with Brad Paisley, who just extended a pretty special invitation to Posty ahead of the album’s release:

“What I’m about to ask is going to mean a lot to you I think, knowing you and knowing the respect that you have for country music and this journey you’re embarking on now as a hillbilly singer, which is gonna be massive and remarkable and amazing for both country music, and I think you.

Would you like to play the Opry? Come play it with me in August. Total invite, and it’s going to be the first of many appearances I have a feeling from you.

Come experience what it’s like to play the show that started it all. You and I can jam together, and a lot of your friends’ll be there, and we’re going to have a blast.”

Posty will be making his Grand Ole Opry debut on August 14th, at a show featuring not only Brad, but also new Opry member Lainey Wilson, Vince Gill, John Michael Montgomery and the War & Treaty, with more artists still to be announced.

And I have a feeling that already great lineup’s going to get even better…

Now, I know that people have strong feelings about pop artists crossing over into country music. Because I have the same feelings about some of them too. But Post Malone is one who’s time and time again shown that he has a deep respect not only for country music, but for its history and traditions. He doesn’t seem like a guy who’s just using country music for his own gain: I believe that he genuinely loves country music, and wants to be a part of it and show it the respect it deserves.

And no better way to show that respect than by playing the most famous stage in country music.
