What is it with people taking some moral stance against those of us that love participating in the opportunities provided by the great outdoors?
My mind immediately jumps back to a New York dad and his child being stunned silent after hearing that a hunter actually eats the deer he harvests but just recently there was a drunk HOA president snapping a kid’s fishing rod in half that may take the cake for most insane reaction of all-time.
Well, another has been floating around the internet and it’s a good one, not necessarily because of the Karen heard in the video but because of the reaction the angler had to her pestering.
Some dude was out fishing and happened to bring in a carp. Not a huge one but hey, some days you take any fish that will bite and he wanted to take a little video to commemorate the catch.
Some lady happened to be walking by and made it her number one priority in life to “care” for the well-being of the fish. She can be heard snootily asking:
“Are you supposed to keep that?”
Here’s where the best part of the clip comes. At first, the angler starts to give an actual answer, saying “No, well” (which probably would have been followed up with him saying that he was going to release it but that he could keep it if he wanted to) but then he realizes how insane it is for the lady to be questioning him like that.
She begins to say something along the lines of “Aren’t you gonna put it back in the water?,” which pushes him over the edge and he snaps back at her in a hilarious way:
“First of all shut up. Mind your business. Second of all…”
Unfortunately for all of us this is where the clip cuts off so we don’t get to hear the rest of the verbal beatdown he probably leveed against this lady.
My guess it would be something about how this is an invasive carp and most states recommend you just kill it. Many states don’t even have bag limits on carp which means… open season, year around. A lot of places even hold tournaments specifically designed to catch and eradicate a lot of carp.
I do get that she probably didn’t know better but that’s also exactly the point. If you don’t know about something you should probably stay quiet and just let it go, regardless of how emotionally charged you feel in the moment.
Lovers of the outdoors just can’t catch a break these days.
