Wife knows best… and Shane Smith is a smart man.
Today, Shane Smith, new dad and frontman for Shane Smith & the Saints, is a guest on Dale Brisby’s Rodeo Time Podcast, where Dale asked him if he was in a concrete room with just his underwear on, what the be largest animal he would fight would be.
And Shane jokingly called on his friend and fellow artist Koe Wetzel, where he also told a great story from the time they opened a couple of shows for Eric Church up in Canada last year.
Apparently, Koe and his people had his notorious fight club going on the bus:
And Shane admitted that Koe “messed [him] up” that night after some rowdy partying (and fighting):
“Koe Wetzel. No, not really. He and I just… he messed me up, dude. In Canada, after a show, we were playing with Eric Church.
We had a pretty wild night, it ended up in everyone wrestling like a cage fight, like one-on-one and people throwing bets on it on his bus.”
Shane added that he never actually took on Koe (and didn’t want to), though he did go pretty far during the tournament, if you will, but wound up messing up is rib somewhere in the brutal process.
But the funniest part is, Shane says his wife is limiting “the amount of times” he can hang out with Koe now because of wild all of that was… and I’m sure it’s partially a joke, but also I don’t think I can really blame her (especially now that they have a newborn at home):
“I can’t, no. I think I lasted a pretty decent while, but I mess up my rib it was a whole deal. My wife is limiting the amount of times that he and I can hang out anymore”
The Koe stories just never disappoint…
