Not sure you could even consider what Detective Bryan Gillis “suffered” as injuries while he pursued a phony arrest of world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler. If my digitized articulation is somewhat garbled in this lede, I apologize. My brain goes into a python-squeezing pretzel whenever attempting to unpack the surreal nature of Scheffler’s arrest at the PGA Championship, which very well may have cost him yet another major title.
Shout out to Kentucky’s Spectrum News anchor Lachlan McLean for scooping these photos of Gillis, who infamously stated in the post-Scheffler arrest police report that his $80 pants were damaged beyond repair.
Gillis also had a wrist injury. he said he didn't need EMS but another office said it was protocol. pic.twitter.com/PWPQCIugi7

Do those look like the abrasions of a man who was dragged across the highway by a moving vehicle? We’ll never know for certain, since Gillis didn’t flip on his bodycam until after the fact. The good news is, no legal action is being taken by Scheffler, Gillis, or Louisville Metro Police Department for the clown show that was Scheffler’s arrest.
I’m sure many of us have had worse injuries falling off a bike whilst pedaling at less than 5 mph. The fact that Gillis was peddling some notion that he endured such physical hardship is even more comical now that these photos reveal that clearly wasn’t the case. I kind of wish he had, like, sued Scheffler or something. Can you imagine these photos as a key evidence exhibit in a court room? LOL.
Poor Scottie. It seems another source has given us a new angle of the arrest video. You can see how cordial and fearful he was. The man wouldn’t harm a fly.
BREAKING: We just received an abundance of evidence from the Scottie Scheffler arrest last month: videos and photos. I'm still working through most of it — but in this clip you can hear Scottie's fear as he gets arrested, and Gillis' explanation of what happened. @wave3news pic.twitter.com/7zYAg3aECZ

Gillis notably has a history of poor behavior and unbecoming conduct. That includes the Bill Hader in Superbad-esque act of doing donuts in a business parking lot with a drunk civilian in his car while on duty. Even Hader’s dimwitted Officer Slater wouldn’t have been moronic enough to do what Gillis did throughout the whole Scheffler fiasco. He couldn’t have handled it any worse. These new photos of his “injuries” are further proof of that.
The worst part? I’d be willing to bet that a savvy tailor could, indeed, repair those damn pants. Never thought I’d put this trendy phrase in writing, but here goes: I can’t even with this Bryan Gillis guy. Make it stop.
