James Tucker Reminds Everyone He’s An Artist You Need To Know In New OurVinyl Sessions EP

OurVinyl has been on fire lately with the up and coming artists they been teaming up with.

I mean, in just a month’s time, OurVinyl has recorded live EPs with Danno Simpson, Jack Van Cleaf, Margo Cilker, JD Clayton, and now James Tucker, too. All are well worth the listen, but the most recent session with James Tucker is an absolute must listen.

A Yadkin County, North Carolina native and current resident of the Greenville, South Carolina area, Tucker is a talented songwriter with stop-you-in-your-tracks vocals that are up there with the best of them in the business. With this four track OurVinyl EP being his biggest release to date, Tucker’s potent catalog has growing slowly but surely, having released nine impressive singles over a five year span beginning with “Man I Am” in 2019.

OurVinyl TV has a knack for featuring up and coming artists shortly before they blow up, and hopefully, James Tucker will be added to the list. They released a session with Tyler Childers in 2017, Billy Strings in 2018, and Morgan Wade and Charley Crocket both in 2020, all of whom, for example, have become popular and influential figures in country music in the years since. Providing a stripped-back setting in which an artist’s lyricism and vocals shine, OurVinyl has long served as a platform through which up and coming acts can get the opportunity to reach new fans with their original music.

For an artist like James Tucker, who has gained considerable traction over the past few years, but is still working a normal day job and chasing his dream, teaming up with OurVinyl is an incredible opportunity. And I think it’s safe to say, he made the most of it with these songs. Tucker took to Instagram upon the EP and video release to echo these sentiments.

“The full OurVinyl session is live now. I want to thank the folks over at OurVinyl from the production team, engineers, and all the staff for having us out. I’ve spent many nights after playing shows winding down to OurVinyl sessions, and watching some of the greats from Tyler Childers, to JR Carroll, and many more.

To be featured along some of these fine artists is truly an honor. As an independent artist trying to figure it out, this was a notch in the belt to assure me these songs aren’t for nothing. I appreciate every single one of you guys that listen and come out to shows.

So, without further ado, check out James Tucker’s OurVinyl session, featuring stripped-back, acoustic renditions of some of the best tracks in his growing catalog.
