When you are on stage performing, there is always a ton of adrenaline running through you. The beat of the bass drum, the roar of the crowd… while many artists are skilled professionals, even the seasoned veterans can make a mistake here and there. But a true artist can laugh it off and get back to putting on a show.
Shania Twain has officially kicked off her Las Vegas residency, rounding out her May dates with a hilarious on-stage bobble.
During her performance of “(If You’re Not In It For Love) I’m Outta Here,” Twain takes one of her drummers’ sticks and beats on a drum brought down to the front of the stage. Throughout the performance, she continually goes back and plays the instrument, dancing in between visits to drum.
But, carrying around that drumstick the whole time posed for some mild confusion from Twain. During a lyrical break, Twian had both the microphone and drumstick by her side as she danced to the beat. When it was time for her to step back in for the next verse, she mistakenly raised the wrong hand to her mouth, singing into the drumstick.
She quickly realized what happened when she didn’t hear her feedback in the microphone, instantly switching hands and laughing into the mic.
“HAHA Oh my God. That was hilarious.”
She laughs at herself in the moment before delivering the chorus perfectly. At least she recovered from the hiccup, which almost gave her more energy for the remainder of the song.
