They say a bad day at the golf course beats a good day at work.
I’d like to know if the guy in this video would agree with that saying. Having a so-so day golfing usually means you hit a couple of bad shots here or there. Maybe you just weren’t on top of your game, or simply had an off day. It happens to everybody. Something that doesn’t happen to everybody, though, is getting attacked by a deer while out on the golf course.
We don’t know how this encounter came to be. All we know is that whatever happened beforehand led one man to run for his life from a deer that was dead set on chasing him down. Could the wild animal have been provoked? Sure, it’s definitely possible. My imaginative brain likes to think it’s something funnier, like the deer was enforcing the rules after the guy took an illegal drop in a penalty area.
Regardless, Bambi put the fear of God into this golfer by charging right at him, and it was “advantage deer” with the chase down happening on the hill side. The spikes of the man’s golf shoes were no match for the hooves of the doe, and as soon as the encounter really got going, the guy slid and fell down to the ground.
This only encouraged the deer to continue the pursuit, and the man is lucky he still had a golf club in his hand. He used it to deter the deer from coming any closer. Without it, the doe might have gone into “stomp out mode,” and the guy’s friends videoing the whole thing would have gone from laughing to gasping if the deer could have gotten its rapid-fire hooves going.
Fortunately, the “boop” on the head with the golf club was enough to change the mind of the deer. It quickly reevaluated the situation and decided to leave the golfers be, running off the direction it originally came from. This video should serve as a friendly reminder that even when you are on the confines of the golf course, you’re still at the mercy of the outdoors.
Wild animals usually won’t attack humans willy-nilly, but they also won’t shy away from putting people in their place if they’re being bothersome. Something tells me this golfer was probably messing with this deer, so the wild animal decided to teach the guy a lesson.
And it was all caught on video:
