Danno Simpson is back with another single, folks, so you know what that means. Drop what you’re doing and go give it a listen.
Titled “Larimer County Jail,” Simpson’s latest tune follows a young narrator caught up in an unsustainable cycle of partying who comes to the realization that he either needs to get it together or he’ll end up in a jail cell.
Perhaps autobiographical in some regards, as Larimer County Jail is a real place in Simpson’s stomping grounds of Fort Collins, CO, the track brings a refreshingly light-hearted approach to a serious matter with a fast paced, honky tonking sound and the clever lyricism that has become a staple in Simpson’s growing catalog.
As Simpson described in a recent Instagram post, “Larimer County Jail” is one of the first originals he believed in enough to play live in front of others, so it’s about time the track be released to streaming platforms for his fans across the world to hear.
“I’ve been playing this song for a long time, it was one of the first songs I wrote that I liked enough to play live. It was the first song I showed my friends. I’m super happy to finally be putting it out.

Born in Texas but hailing from Colorado, Simpson’s music is rooted in storytelling through thoughtfully clever lyricism, and with a killer backing band and an intricate instrumental approach, the proof is in the music that Danno Simpson could be one of the next up and coming country music artists to breakthrough to the big time.
