The search for 1923 actor Cole Brings Plenty, the nephew of Yellowstone actor Mo Brings Plenty, has resulted in tragedy.

According to Johnson County, Kansas, police, Cole was found dead this morning in a wooded area near W. 200th Street and Homestead Lane, in Edgerton, Kansas, not too far from his vehicle. He was 27 years old.

The death is still under investigation.

Cole’s father confirmed that heartbreaking news via Mo’s Instagram:

“I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole.

We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas. I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him.

During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for privacy as we process our grief and figure out how we move forward. Please know we appreciate you and appreciate your understanding.

Cole went missing on Easter Sunday and it was later revealed that Lawrence, Kansas, police were also looking for him in relation to a domestic violence call they received.

According to KSNT, he was the primary suspect in a domestic dispute after police were alerted to a woman who was screaming for help:

“Police were called to an apartment on reports of a woman screaming for help. Upon arrival, police began investigating the claims, identifying Plenty as a possible suspect.

Traffic cameras showed Plenty leaving the city immediately following this incident south on 59 Highway.”

Cole Brings Plenty has starred in an episode of Yellowstone (Season 5, Episode 4), and plays Pete Plenty Clouds in the spinoff prequel series, 1923.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Cole’s family and friends.

Earlier today, Cole’s uncle Mo asked people not to jump to conclusions.

He said:

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone in the community who has contributed their time, resources, and support in helping us search for the missing person.

Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we are truly thankful for your cooperation and dedication during this challenging time. Your assistance has been invaluable, and we appreciate the unity and compassion shown by all those involved in the search efforts.

Thank you for coming together as a community to aid in our mission to locate and bring the missing person home safely. Your collective efforts have made a meaningful impact, and we are grateful for your ongoing support.

1. We don’t know–FOR A FACT–that Cole was involved in the incident that he is alleged to have been a part of.

2. We don’t know—FOR A FACT—that Cole was behind the wheel or in his 2005 Ford Explorer when cameras caught it leaving Lawrence, KS, on U.S. 59.

3. We know—FOR A FACT—that Cole would NOT go “on the run” in ANY SITUATION. It is not in his character, despite what people think or say. It isn’t worth it, and he would know that.

It is important for everyone to refrain from making assumptions or speculating in any situation. Jumping to conclusions without verified information cannot only harm individuals’ reputations but also compromise the integrity of our ongoing investigations.

Let us all commit to prioritizing facts and respecting due process, upholding the principles of fairness and justice for all involved.

Would you not want this if Cole were your son, brother, nephew, cousin — family? Let us prioritize facts, respect due process, and uphold the principles of fairness and justice for all involved.”
