Coming this Friday.

Orville Peck just announced his North American Stampede headlining tour, and revealed that a duet with the great Willie Nelson of “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other” will be out everywhere this Friday, April 5th.

Fresh off a new record deal with Warner Records, Peck says he can’t wait to start this new chapter:

“I am incredibly happy to be joining the Warner family and getting back on the road this year. I feel happier and healthier than I’ve ever been, and I’m excited to start this new chapter.”

He most recently released his sophomore album Bronco back in 2022, so fans will be eager to get this new single and likely, much more coming soon.

Of course, “Cowboys” was originally written and recorded by by Latin country musician Ned Sublette, and is based on his experiences growing up in Portales, New Mexico. The lyrics satirize the stereotypes associated with cowboys and gay men, and when Willie released is at a single in 2006, it became the first LGBTQ-themed mainstream country song by a major artist.

Peck, who is openly gay and always wears a mask as part of his trademark look, shared a teaser of their duet over on Instagram, which you can check out here:
