Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Cat “Poncho” Might Be The Biggest Social Media Star On The Planet

Legendary wrestler “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is doing wonders for the cat community.

It’s not a hot take to say that dogs are more popular than cats. If you love your dog and post about it online, you are just seen as a passionate dog owner. If you send stuff out onto social media about your cat, you are seen as a crazy cat person.

I don’t know if Steve Austin set out to change that stereotype, but he’s effectively doing so whether he realizes it or not. Think of toughest people that you could name off the top of your head, and “Stone Cold” is comfortably in the top five… or at least he should be.

And guess what? He’s a cat guy, which can often be seen as a red flag. Austin might not be a “cat guy” as much as he is a “Pancho guy.” For those uninitiated, Pancho is the former WWE personality’s barn cat.

Which you can see here in a cartoon (fan art) that “Stone Cold” posted himself:

Great song choice there, Mr. Stone Cold. Can’t go wrong with “Pancho and Lefty” by Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. Fun fact, Austin has another barn cat named Lefty to finish out the pair from that song (though Lefty apparently isn’t as famous as Pancho).

As I mentioned above, that “Pancho 3:16” fan art was submitted to Austin by a fan. “Stone Cold” obviously has a huge fan base, but you may not understand just how big of a celebrity his barn cat Pancho has become.

Fans get sneak peaks into Steve Austin’s relationship with his pet cat from time to time, and honestly, it’s incredibly wholesome. Probably one of the most wholesome things I’ve seen on social media in a long time.

Here’s a clip of Steve Austin talking to Poncho before he had to go out and shovel horse sh*t:

A PANCHO CHECK IN.

I’ve only known that Pancho has existed for a couple of hours and I’m fully on board. And “Stone Cold” is right in saying that his cat has one heck of a set up.

It appears that Pancho also has one heck of an owner. Who knew that the intimidating Steve Austin could be such a gentle giant? I’ll also add comedian to his list of titles, because he absolutely nailed this joke during another Pancho update:

“Pancho said he had a dream last night. He dreamed he ate a muffler. He woke up this morning exhausted.”

Now that is a dad joke.

In another update on the world’s most adored barn cat, “Stone Cold” put Pancho on blast by asking if he had earned his keep by killing voles (small rodents) around the property.

Pancho wasn’t super interested in answering that question:

It’s hard to tell who runs the show at the Broken Skull Ranch: Steve Austin or Pancho?

And finally, in quite possibly the best clip from all that he’s shared, here’s a video of Austin wishing everyone a Merry Christmas as he shoveled horse crap with one arm… because Pancho is resting on his other shoulder:

Just brilliant content creation.

You’ve probably had enough of the adventures of Pancho and Steve Austin at this point, but just in case you haven’t, here’s some rapid fire posts that “Stone Cold” has shared recently.

Go ahead and give him a follow if you haven’t already to stay up to date on Steve Austin Pancho:
