Jelly Roll may be happily married, and one of the biggest stars in music right now, but even he still has a celebrity crush…
The rapper-turned-country star was nominated for two Grammy Awards at last night’s ceremonies, for Best New Artist and for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for his duet with Lainey Wilson on “Save Me.”
And while he didn’t end up taking home either of the awards, Jelly Roll ultimately got what may have been the bigger prize: Getting to meet his celebrity crush.
Jelly Roll’s wife, influencer and host of the Dumb Blonde podcast Bunnie Xo, shared a video of her husband meeting Taylor Swift on the floor of the Grammy Awards. And while you can’t hear the conversation between the two, she looks just as happy about meeting him as he does meeting her:

It was a big night for Jelly Roll despite not winning the awards. Ahead of the show, he shared just how much even being nominated meant to him:
“I’m not sure if I’ll post this or not because I’m so emotional, but the greatest honor an artist can ever hear is that they’ve been nominated for a GRAMMY.
And I got to hear that this morning. I haven’t cried like this since my daddy died. I tried to make this video seven times, y’all. I love y’all, man, so fuckin’ much.”

And he also discussed the adorable moment when he was able to call his mom and tell her that he was nominated for two Grammys, a moment that meant all the more to him after all that he’s been through:
“It was me getting to call a woman I’ve called from jail, a woman I’ve called homeless, a woman I’ve called addicted, a woman I’ve had to sit down and tell he I had a drug addiction, a woman I’ve had to tell her I was running from the police, a woman I’ve had to call with all this horrible news… and I got to call and say I just got nominated for 2 f**king Grammys… it’s the craziest call you can make.”
(Of course when he called his mom to tell her, she just wanted to talk about Tanya Tucker…because moms never stop being moms).

And Jelly was nothing but gracious after the awards ceremony, praising Victoria Monet for taking home the trophy for Best New Artist:
Although I’m still a little disappointed that Jelly didn’t win, because that acceptance speech would have been absolutely out of this world.
I have a feeling we’ll get to hear one from him eventually though.
