This is how you know you’ve made it.
Country superstar Lainey Wilson is set to be featured in a Coors Light commercial during the Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, where she has a cameo in the spot that features the return of the Coors Light Chill Train.
Of course, she’s had an incredible past couple years, and most notably, took home the coveted 2023 CMA Entertainer of the Year award, but a Super Bowl commercial… it doesn’t get a whole lot bigger than that, unless of course you find yourself singing the national anthem or performing on the halftime show.
She told Billboard that her family’s going to “freak out” when they see her on TV during the biggest event in sports, and the most-watched television events of the year, adding that is was obviously a “dream come true”:
“I think my family’s going to freak out when they see me on a commercial during the Super Bowl.
It was such a dream to be in my first big game day and just help reintroduce the Coors Light iconic Chill Train to bring a little bit of that chill that everybody needs. We need that chill out from time to time.”
She filmed the commercial at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, where she got to be creative with the hair and makeup to pull of that perfectly “frosted” look:
“I was doing a photo shoot with my old trusty guitar and a horse that Coors Light hooked me up with.
We had some really cool frosted makeup effects and we got to do a lot of fake snow in my hair and eyelashes and stuff. I got to do something that I’ve never done and got to be creative in different kind of ways, which is always fun for me.”
The Louisiana recently inked a deal with the beer company, and they’re the official sponsor of her 2024 Country’s Cool Again tour, which starts this May in Nashville.
And probably the best perk about appearing in the Super Bowl ad is that Lainey will get to attend the game for the second time… plus, she gets to witness the Usher halftime show in-person, which I’m just a little bit jealous of…
“I’m excited to see me some Usher, and I’m excited for the game, too. This is my second year to ever go to the Super Bowl, and any time you get invited to go to the Super Bowl, you go.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I’m getting to go with some of my friends and other artists. It’s going to be a party.”
She added that she’s not pulling for a specific team, but I personally cannot wait to see how the commercial turns out and couldn’t be happier that Miss Lainey is getting these massive opportunities.
The Super Bowl will air live on CBS on February 11th at 6:30PM EST from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
