Wyatt Flores is a superstar in the making.

Coming off of a scorching hot 2023 in which his fanbase and the excitement surrounding his music grew exponentially, Flores and his band honed their sound all year long on the road opening up for some of the genre’s most popular acts, playing the scene’s biggest festivals, and headlining to sold out club crowds all across the country.

This hard work has been paying off, as Flores also dropped a handful of singles this past year leading up to the release of his extremely well received debut album Life Lessons in November. Moreover, the Stillwater, OK native capped off his massive year by releasing his cover of The Fray’s iconic hit “How To Save Life,” a song that has become a staple in Flores’ live set.

As if that weren’t enough, Flores is picking up in the new year right where he left off with the release of his incredible new single “Milwaukee.” Yet another showcase of his spectacular songwriting ability, “Milwaukee” is a heartfelt breakup song in which the narrator wears their emotions on their sleeve, and it’s sure to tug on your heart strings.

Flores played this one live at the legendary Ryman Auditorium while opening for Charles Wesley Godwin back in December, and with several videos making their way to social media afterwards, fans have been heavily anticipating the release of “Milwaukee.”

So, without further ado, check out Wyatt Flores’ latest single.

“Milwaukee”

“Somewhere in Milwaukee there’s snow covering concrete
And I still see you walking away
And I tried to say I’m sorry, but that frozen rain kept falling
And I couldn’t find the words to make you stay

You can hate my eyes for watching you leave
Hate my should have chased you down feet
For not trying to keep you wrapped in my arms
You can hate my hands for letting you go
Hate my lips for kissing yours cold
And hiding all my feelings in the dark
But please don’t hate my heart”

Wyatt Flores’ name is at the top of the short list of country music’s hottest artists right now. With a young, passionate, and rapidly growing fanbase as well as the support of the industry behind him, it’s no wonder many have lauded him as an heir to the Red Dirt throne and one of country music’s top artists to watch in 2024.

The “Please Don’t Go” artist has a knack for writing incredibly vulnerable and relatable music, that seems to resonate with fans more deeply than most other artists are able to. The 22 year old exhibits a wise-beyond-his-years outlook in life and in his songwriting, and masterfully uses social media to cultivate his fan base by promoting his music and providing insight into the process that makes fans feel like they are a part of his journey.

With a growing catalog that now features one of his best songs yet in “Milwaukee,” Wyatt Flores is well on his way to superstardom, and there aren’t really any other artists more deserving of it than he is. The sky’s the limit for this Okie.

If you haven’t listened to much of his music yet, here are a few of my favorites aside from his latest tune “Milwaukee.”

“Please Don’t Go”

“Orange Bottles”

And here is the aforementioned cover of “How to Save a Life” by The Fray.”

In case you missed it, Flores recently played a sold out pop up show at The Basement East in Nashville, and when fans were still lining the streets after the venue filled up, he went outside to play this one to everybody in the parking lot. What a guy.
