I guess the nickname is right there for the taking, isn’t it?
It’s certainly not the first time that Gradey Dick has been called “Mr. Big Dick Energy” in his life, but it is probably the first time he’s been called that through the loud speakers of an NBA arena. With a last name like that, you are either going to be picked on all of your life, or thrive all of your life, and it looks like Gradey Dick is thriving.
Dick was drafted into the NBA (out of Kansas) by the Toronto Raptors with the 13th pick in the first round of this year’s NBA Draft, and the 19-year-old is now one of the youngest players in the league.
Try to think about what you were doing when you were in the last portion of your teenage years, and instead imagine yourself then dealing with the weight of being a professional athlete.
Which if we’re being honest, there’s a chance you were making dick jokes at 19 years old too, they were just done unprofessionally.
One could argue that being called “Mr. Big Dick Energy” during the announcements of an NBA team’s starting lineups is a professional dick joke. That might be just as impressive of an accomplishment as being an NBA starter before you turn 20.
Take a look at his hilarious starting lineup announcement below:
I do wonder if someone is going to get scolded, or even possibly fired, for saying that.
Most of everyone on social media showed concern about that as well, though a lot of people were just laughing at the dick joke about the NBA’s newest and most profanely nicknamed rookie:
Someone is getting a call from HR tonight
