Willie Nelson To Release ‘Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90’ Concert Performances On CD & DVD

Willie Nelson country music

I couldn’t tell you the last time I bought a CD or DVD, but I guess it’s happening again soon.

Willie Nelson is officially releasing his Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90 Live At The Hollywood Bowl concert film on December 15th as a 2CD+Blu-Ray deluxe edition, a complete digital edition and as a 2xLP highlights.

In addition, Willie Nelson Greatest Hits, a freshly compiled career-spanning collection will be released on November 3rd.

The Hollywood Bowl performances took place on April 29th & 30th at the legendary Hollywood Bowl and featured incredible performances of the red headed stranger’s vast catalog by Willie himself, in addition to Billy Strings, Buddy Cannon, Charley Crockett, Chris Stapleton, Dwight Yoakam, Emmylou Harris, Gary Clark Jr., George Strait, Jamey Johnson, Keith Richards, Kris Kristofferson, his sons Lukas Nelson and Micah Nelson (Particle Kid), Lyle Lovett, Margo Price, Miranda Lambert, Snoop Dogg, The Avett Brothers, The Lumineers, Tom Jones, Tyler Childers and many, many more.

It was a star-studded event to say the least, and was previously released as a concert movie in theaters a few months back. I was really hoping they’d release the audio and video somewhere in a more permanent form so I can relive it whenever I want, so I also assume I’ll need to go figure out where to watch a DVD in 2023.

Mark Rothbaum and Keith Wortman, Creators/Executive Producers of the Willie 90 shows, say they’re thrilled to bring the magic of this once-in-a-lifetime concert to fans all over the world:

“We are thrilled to partner with Legacy Recordings to bring these iconic live shows that celebrated Willie’s 90th to fans around the world.

This release captures the magic of these shows and enables audiences all around the world to experience these performances as if they were at the Hollywood Bowl with all of us.”

Every single performance was superb, the star-power was undeniable, and of course, they played some of the best music ever created with the man himself, so if you’re as big of a Willie Nelson fan as I am, this is definitely worth adding to the collection.

And if you need more convincing to get your hands on one in a few months, check out some of my favorite performances from the incredible weekend below.
