The rising star has come a long way since she moved to Nashville and lived in a 20-foot camper. Now she’s racking up awards and nominations from the ACM and CMT, and seems to only release certified bell-bottom-country hits. Oh, and she starred on a little show called Yellowstone, if you’ve ever heard of it…
Wilson has countless hits in her young country music career, and though “Heart Like A Truck” has certainly had itself a moment, there might not be a bigger song of hers than “Watermelon Moonshine.”
It seems as though Lainey’s signature sound was perfectly paired with the topical and apparently relatable lyrics of watermelon flavored moonshine, and people loved it when it first came out, and have continued to love it ever since. Fans of Lainey Wilson have helped “Watermelon Moonshine” stay at the top, as the song has tied “The Good Ones” by Gabby Barrett for the “longest running solo female #1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart” in a long, long time… over a decade.
“Watermelon Moonshine” has certainly struck a chord with country music fans, and you can tell that the tune means a lot to Wilson as well. She just recently posted about her hit on her social media accounts, thanking fans for supporting her and her song, and telling everyone how much it means to her for people to be singing along:

It really is a bop, as the kids are calling it nowadays. Wait…are the kids still calling songs “a bop,” or am I getting too old and out of the loop?
