“We’re really excited about it. We’re doing a damn Christmas record. It’s really fun. I’ve been in songwriter land and baby land and mixing land.”
Pardi also admitted that there won’t be any original music on the album, as he’s been busy writing his own material for his next country album.
However, he assured us that we can expect upbeat, good timin’ Christmas music:
“I did go through a lot more pop songs and other stuff. I can’t give it away because I was really detailed in what we’re recording. But we’re not singing ‘Silent Night’ or ‘O Holy Night’ or any boring-ass Christmas songs.”
He also referred to the project as “Christmas with a drink:”
“It’s very up-tempo and fun. I feel like there’s all kinds of weird Christmas songs that everybody does. It’s a merry Christmas party.”
While the album, I am sure, will itchy any honky tonk Christmas scratch, it is very neat that Pardi is doing an accompanying Christmas show.
Held at the beautiful Beacon Theatre in New York City in the heart of the Christmas season, I bet it will be a killer show.
The Rockettes can move over…Jon Pardi is coming to town.
