That’s a helluva lineup.
Every year, the stars come out for a giant party to celebrate the birthday of one of Nashville’s most famous honky tonks, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge.
The daylong celebration takes place on the streets of Broadway in front of the iconic purple honky tonk, as crowds pack in for blocks to catch the free show.
And this year’s event has just been announced.
Moving from its usual date of the first Tuesday in October, the 2023 birthday bash will be held on Sunday, September 17th and will feature an all-star lineup including Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, Lee Brice, Montgomery Gentry and more.
But it’s also been announced that “Rich Men North of Richmond” sensation Oliver Anthony will also be headlining the massive show.
Anthony (whose real name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford) has been on a whirlwind since his song went viral a few weeks ago, playing to packed crowds at a family farmer’s market in North Carolina and making a surprise appearance at Joe Rogan’s comedy club last week before joining Rogan for an episode of his podcast.
But Tootsie’s Birthday Bash will likely be the largest crowd that Anthony’s played for since becoming a viral sensation, with the concert taking place on the same day as the Tennessee Titans take on the Los Angeles Chargers and downtown Nashville is sure to be packed not only with football fans, but with people hoping to catch a free performance from country music’s newest star.
Music for the free event will kick off at 11am, with the main acts starting at 5pm.
If you happen to be in Nashville that weekend, here’s your chance to catch a free show from Oliver Anthony. And who knows, maybe him and Jamey Johnson will team up and perform together once again.
