Coach Prime kept the receipts.
Deion Sanders notched his first win as head coach of the University of Colorado Buffaloes in spectacular fashion, knocking off #17 TCU (who played in the College Football Playoff national championship game last year) with a thrilling 45-42 win.
Sanders has taken a lot of heat this offseason for his rebuilding efforts at Colorado, dismissing many of the players from last year’s 1-11 team after he took over as head coach and bringing in a ton of players from the transfer portal – including many who played for him at Jackson State, where his team went 12-1.
And he heard everybody who was criticizing him.
During his postgame press conference, Coach Prime called out a reporter who had apparently said some things about the team that the coach didn’t appreciate:
“What’s up boss? Do you believe now? Hold on, hold on, hold on. Oh no. Do you believe now?
Oh no no no, I read through that bulljunk you wrote. I read through that. I sifted through all that.
Come on. Do you believe?”
And Sanders was apparently not satisfied with the reporter’s (lack of) response:
“You don’t believe. You just answered it. You don’t believe. Next question.”
And when a fan on Twitter told Sanders to “stay humble,” he had a blunt message for the haters:
Colorado is going to be a FUN team to follow this year.
