Orca Explodes Out Of The Water And Collides With A Dolphin Mid-Air

Woah…

Nature is just crazy and killer whales might be some of the craziest creatures out there.

Orcas, also know as “killer whales” belong to the sub-order of toothed whales (known as odontocetes) but are actually the largest member of the dolphin family. Technically all dolphins are whales, but not all whales are dolphins, but we don’t have to get into the details.

They live in groups called pods and are very social, often even hunting together in packs, much like wolves do. They are absolutely massive sea beasts, weighing as much as 10 tons and measuring up to 30 feet long.

They’re affectionately nicknamed “killer whales” because they are absolute killers in the water.

Not only are they large and powerful, but also incredibly smart. They are known to communicate with each other while working together on hunts to increase their success rate. These animals are the only known predator to great whites sharks. Yes, a pod of orcas can take down a great white shark.

Clearly, they are good at what they do and named appropriately.

But still, it’s still always cool to see them in action.

These divers got the treat of a lifetime when out on the ocean. They noticed something chasing a dolphin and decided to pull out the cameras just in time.

As the dolphin runs and comes out of the water, a killer whale takes massive leap fully coming out of the water as it just clips the dolphin, sending it flipping into the water.

Everyone on the boats loses their minds, as they should… what a sight to see.

Penguin Hops Into Boat Full Of People To Escape Hungry Orca

This would definitely get you your money’s worth on a whale watching trip.

Orcas, also know as “killer whales” are one of the smartest creatures on our whole planet. They live in groups called pods and are very social, often even hunting together in packs like wolves do.

They belong to the sub-order of toothed whales (known as odontocetes) but are also the largest member of the dolphin family. It gets kind of confusing, but technically all dolphins are whales, but not all whales are dolphins. All whales, dolphins, and porpoises are part of the animal group known as Cetacea, which is then split into two groups consisting of toothed whales, and non-toothed whales.

They will eat just about anything they can from various fish to otter, seals or penguins. In some areas, they even hunt sharks.

In the video, a group of tourists on a boat in the waters of Antarctica witness the dramatic scene unfold before their eyes. A gentoo penguin can be seen frantically trying to escape a pod of killer whales, darting in and out of the water as the orcas chase him down.

As the penguin swims towards the boat, it becomes clear that it is attempting to use it as a means of escape. And, in a moment of pure desperation, the penguin attempts to hop onto the boat itself, much to the surprise of the stunned tourists.

He can’t make it up and chases back around in a second attempt to get enough steam to make it to safety.

It’s a heart-pounding moment as the penguin makes the jump, it almost doesn’t make it as a man helps it up into safety.

That was a close one.

The penguin is safe as the killer whales come up next to the boat searching. The boat took the penguin just far enough away before it hopped back into the water.

Luckily for the people in the boat, the orca wasn’t quite willing to railroad their boat to knock the penguin off, but it would definitely be possible.

I would go whale watching there any day…
