The running back depth chart for the Tennessee Titans could be taking a hit soon after backup running back Hassan Haskins was charged with aggravated assault and strangulation.

Both Haskins and his girlfriend Makiah Green were arrested last Thursday in the morning after the domestic dispute, and both were released on bond later the same day. The altercation allegedly erupted because Green liked another man’s photo on Instagram.

According to arrest warrants, Haskins reportedly began to strangle Green with both hands for “10 to 15 seconds” after the fight escalated. Makiah fought back, and the couple exchanged hard slaps  before Haskins began to strangle her again on top of a dog crate within the house.

Haskins posted his $10,000 bond, and it is believed that Green also posted her bond $7,500, which was for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism, and aggravated assault-strangulation. Both were taken to the Davidson County Jail upon their arrest, and the couple is now set to appear in front of Davidson County General Sessions Judge Ana Escobar on July 10th.

NFL reporter Dov Kleiman sent out a post the day of the arrest and gave details about how things went down:

“In a subsequent argument over their breakup, Haskins reportedly kicked through a door in their home and cocked a handgun, and stated, ‘I hope you would,’ as she threatened to slash his tires after ripping a $5,000 chain from his neck.

Haskins charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. The girlfriend, Makiah Green, was also jailed during a second argument over their breakup.”

The Tennessee Titans have stayed relatively quiet about the situation, but did release a statement on Friday night saying:

“We are aware of the situation and are gathering additional information.”

This upcoming season would be Haskin’s second with the Titans after he was drafted out of Michigan at the number 131 overall in the NFL Draft’s fourth round.

Last year, he played in 15 games and tallied 25 carries for 93 yards, and also had one start.
