If Koe Wetzel was buying, I can only imagine how much the crowd in Sioux Falls, South Dakota drank last night…
After a pretty last-minute decision to play a fully-acoustic set because his drummer got stuck in Chicago, Koe made it up to fans at his concert at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center big-time by telling them that all the drinks were on him:
“We’re gonna try and play some acoustic shit for y’all, and like I said, drinks are on me tonight, so y’all have fun… we’ll play some old shit, some more softer shit than we’re used to.”
That’s certainly not something that anyone would expect, even if he was down a drummer, and I’m sure will leave a lasting impression on fans who were thankful that he even still played and pretty much changed the whole plan on such short notice.
And not only did he show his appreciation for everyone rolling with the acoustic show with that very generous gesture, but fans got a pretty special and one of a kind, stripped-back performance, as Koe ran through some old fan-favorites with his band members that did make it to the show.
I always love hearing him sing with a fully-acoustic backing, even though we don’t get to hear it too much these days, so I can only imagine this show ended up being a helluva time even if it was a little bit different without all the loud drums and pyro.
Fans posted several different videos over on TikTok of some of the different songs he played, many from way back in his catalog like “Honey Pain,” which you can check out below:
