Stepping into the iconic circle for the first time.

If you’re not familiar with up-and-coming singer and songwriter Kasey Tyndall, you’ve probably heard of some of her frequent co-writers.

Kasey co-wrote her 2021 single “Middle Man” with her good friend Lainey Wilson, and both Lainey and Ashley McBryde were co-writers with Kasey on her 2017 debut album Between Salvation and Survival.

A North Carolina native who grew up listening to everything from Joan Jett to Alison Krauss, Kasey’s come a long way since winning a radio contest in her home state that gave her the opportunity to sing with Keith Urban during a show back in 2014.

Along the way she’s opened for names like Tracy Lawrence and Drake White, and she’ll be hitting the road this summer to open up for Hank Williams Jr. and Old Crow Medicine Show.

But now she’s ready to make her Grand Ole Opry debut – thanks to a surprise from Old Crow Medicine Show frontman Ketch Secor.

Kasey was recently at the Opry for a writing session with some veterans from Creativets. But while she was there, Secor paid her an unexpected visit to deliver the big news – by presenting Kasey with a onesie for her newborn that features her Grand Ole Opry debut date.

And that wasn’t all, because he also let Kasey know that she would be opening for them during their shows at the historic Ryman Auditorium during their annual New Years Eve shows.

It’s always a big moment for artists when they finally get to step into the circle for their Grand Ole Opry debut, and you can tell how much the Opry invite meant to Kasey:

“I’m freaking out…What a special day.”

Oh, and even better? Kasey’s Opry debut will be on her birthday – July 19.

Come a long way since winning a contest to sing with Keith Urban.
