NASCAR Cup Series drivers pushing and shoving on the track is nothing new. But pushing and shoving on pit road during a rain delay?
The Coca-Cola 600 is finally underway at Charlotte Motor Speedway after being postponed yesterday due to rain.
But unfortunately the rain didn’t stay away after the green flag waved, and the race had to again be red flagged and the cars parked on pit road after showers broke out over the track on lap 159, less than halfway through the longest race of the season.
Even though the race was halted, the sparks were still flying as drivers got out of their cars and a heated confrontation broke out between Aric Almirola and Bubba Wallace.
Fan video shows the drivers in an angry conversation as they walk down pit road before Almirola finally turns and shoves Wallace before security quickly stepped in and separated the two.
Here’s a screen grab from the video. It goes on for another 90 seconds or so of them arguing and walking away while arguing. If I tried to post the whole thing, this crappy internet would take until after the race. pic.twitter.com/Tl0yS5ni37

Apparently the drivers were angry after making contact with each other going into turn 3 before the race was stopped.
The race is back underway, so we’ll have to keep an eye on the #23 and the #10 to see if Almirola and Bubba try to settle their beef on the track.
And you may have also seen another familiar face in the video of the confrontation between the two: The security guard who broke it up was the same guy who separated Ross Chastain and Noah Gragson a couple weeks ago when they were throwing punches after the race at Kansas.
This man is single-handedly maintaining law and order on pit road.
