Summer Dean On Her New Single: “It’s The Only Kind Of Love Song I Can Relate To At This Phase In My Life”

Summer Dean country music

Summer Dean is here to take you back in time.

A refreshing taste of the old school Texas country we all crave, Summer Dean’s latest single “She’s In His Arms but I’m in the Palm of His Hand” is a modern day power house in the same vein of Guy Clark and Gary P. Nunn, with a spin that is distinctly her own.

With prominent horns and a sound that brings you closer to the border, this heartbreak-ridden love song is the latest single off of her forthcoming album The Biggest Life.

Produced by legendary Texas troubadour Bruce Robison, in tandem with his iconic label The Next Waltz, Summer Dean is poised to prove her songwriting and vocal prowess is next to none with this one when it drops on June 16th.

In a press release, Dean provided brief but potent insight into her powerful single.

“This song is nonfiction story. It’s the only kind of love song I can relate to at this phase in my life. Realizing your wishes can’t come true is a lonely feeling….and then you add trumpets.”

Recorded in Lockhart, TX at Robison’s studio The Bunker, The Biggest Life features 13 tracks highlighted by Dean’s deft songwriting hand at the forefront of each one. Sonically satisfying and conceptually trailblazing, with plenty of potential to be one of the best records of the year, everyone needs to mark their calendars for the release of The Biggest Life on June 16th.

It’s not like anyone doubted her, though. Her brand new single “She’s in His Arms but I’m in the Palm of His Hand” is more than enough proof. Listen for yourself here:

And in the meantime, continue listening to Summer Dean as anticipation builds for her sophomore record. Here are a few of my favorites to get you started, including the previous two singles off of The Biggest Life, “She Ain’t Me” and quasi-title track “The Biggest Life Worth Living is Small.”

“She Ain’t Me”

“The Biggest Life Worth Living is the Small”

“Yes Ma’am, He Found Me in a Honky Tonk”

And if she’s coming to a city near you this summer, I recommend you hop on the chance to see her live, too.
