Evan Honer Makes Impressive Debut With Release Of New Album ‘West On I-10’

Evan Honer country music

Evan Honer’s debut record West on I-10 is finally out in its entirety, and it is a must-listen.

With the release of three new tracks last night, Honer, who has been releasing songs for the record since his debut single “How Could I Ever” dropped in December 2021, has compiled a spectacular 11-track collection that makes for a very impressive debut.

Hailing from Arizona, Honer just graduated from California Baptist University where he competed on the men’s swim & dive team, winning a Western Athletic Conference championship and Diver of the Year award in his career. A man of many talents, obviously, Honer’s raw, stripped-down sound and clever lyrics have won over country music fans all across the country

Throw these traits in the mix with his passionate vocals and the relatable content of his music, and you get West on I-10, a vulnerable look into Honer’s experiences, relationships, and observations, and one hell of a debut record.

Released in parts over the last year and a half, Honer followed “How Could I Ever” with four more singles for the album in 2022, before releasing his most streamed song to date, an awesome duet of Tyler Childers’ “Jersey Giant” with Julia Digrazia. The only song in his streaming catalog thus far that is not included on the album, Honer went on to release two songs at once in February of this year.

As the album approached and the anticipation grew, Honer released three more songs a month ago, including my favorite off of the record, “Too Far Gone.” And now with the release of “Time,” “Unspoken Thoughts,” and “Forgotten,” West on I-10 has come to fruition in its entirety and Honer is off and running with an impressive debut album to his name.

Prior to the release, Honer shared a few quick words on Instagram about the project last night.

“3 new songs out tonight at midnight! Special thanks to Stephen Myers Audio Productions , Julia DiGrazia , and Tyson Rodgers for helping with these songs.

First album and I can’t wait to keep releasing music! Those who have been listening and supporting I cannot thank you guys enough. Artwork: Trevord Harding and Lillian Choi.”

So without further ado, check out the Tracklist and some of my favorites of the record.

Evan Honer has something special on his hands, and I’m excited to see where this music can take him.

Without too many live shows under his belt, I suspect his summer of touring with the West on I-10 momentum behind him will be a big one for he and his fan base. While the venues haven’t been announced yet, here are the cities and dates Honer will be playing this summer, according to his website, and hopefully there will be more added.
