Earlier today, Jimmie Allen took to Instagram to make a pair of shocking announcements.

The couple of Jimmie Allen and Alexis Gale made it known to the world that they would be separated, while also sharing the news that they are expecting another child later this year.

The 37-year-old country artist and his wife Gale married one another in 2020, but didn’t announce it publicly until May of 2021.

Allen had a child of his own from a previous relationship named Aadyen, and then the couple had their first daughter Naomi in 2020 and their second daughter Zara in 2021. The child they are welcoming later in the year will be the third shared by the couple.

Both Allen and his wife Gale posted the same announcement on their Instagram accounts, which read:

“After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have made the decision to separate.

As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year.”

Allen goes on in the post to ask for privacy from the public during this difficult separation period and addressed the couple’s arrangements for their children:

“Our number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another.

In light (of) our growing family, we respectfully request privacy during this time.”

The country musician, who had somewhat of a start on American Idol, broke into the music industry with his debut album in 2018 titled Mercury Lane.

Following that was an EP released in 2020 called Bettie James and another album in 2022 named after the street he grew up on, Tulip Drive.

Allen was also the only country music artist to be featured in the “Best New Artist” category for the 2o23 Grammy nominations.
