It’s Bristol, baby.
The NASCAR Cup Series will be back on dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway this Sunday for the Food City Dirt Race, and it’s always an interesting race for the 250 laps at the world’s fastest half-mile, to say the least…
And ahead of the event, driver Ryan Blaney, who has expressed his displeasure with the dirt track in the past, is sharing his pre-race playlist.
He’s a huge country fan, and admittedly a big fan of artists like Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks and more.
So in the spirit of the race being on dirt this weekend, Ryan shared a badass playlist that includes tunes from rock and roll, grunge, country and more that fit with the Bristol dirt theme, and features some of my favorite artists, too.
From 49 Winchester’s “Hillbilly Daydream” and Billy Strings’ “Dust in a Baggie,” to Whiskey Myers’ “Mud” and HARDY’s “SOLD OUT,” he has some great country bangers on there.
It also includes bands like Alice In Chains and The B-52’s:
“It’s time to unearth some #LocalTracks from Bristol. Give me your dirt inspired Rock ‘n’ Roll, Blues, Grunge or Country from down that dusty road that exudes Bristol Dirt.
JOIN us and share our #POSTCARD and make sure to watch Sun 7PM ET, NASCAR ON FOX.”
And it looks like Ryan wants some more suggestions to fill out the playlist, so make sure you send a good recommendation his way if you have on that isn’t already included:
After scrolling through and seeing all the great songs that are already on there, I think I’m gonna have to give this one a download for myself, too.
I mean, the man has taste… check it out:
If this doesn’t get you fired up to drive 100-plus miles per hour, I don’t know what will…
And for more great country music playlists, make sure you’re following the Whiskey Riff Channels on Spotify and/or Apple Music.
“Day drinking season is HERE… get in shape.”
