Ben Affleck Says He’s Kind Of “Disturbed” By How Much His Wife Jennifer Lopez Loves ‘Yellowstone’

It’s no secret that Yellowstone is arguably the most popular show in America.

However, these are two fans that I would not have expected.

Ben Affleck recently made an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, where he made a revelation about his wife, Jennifer Lopez.

He admitted:

“I’m kind of disturbed by the fact that my wife really likes ‘Yellowstone.'”

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with watching Yellowstone, millions and millions of people watch it. But more so, it’s her reasoning behind why she loves the show that has Ben a little on edge.

He said that she is:

“Part of me thinks that she’s really drawn to the romance between Cole Hauser and the woman who plays his wife, who’s excellent… who is British by the way, which is amazing.”

Her name is Kelly Reilly, Ben… c’mon.

He recalled:

“Jen showed me a clip of her off of Instagram, the monologue she has in the car with the kid about the ways to become rich. And then she was like, ‘yo, I love this story of these two.’

I was like, ‘Wait a minute? With Cole? With Hauser? What do you love about it?”

I mean seriously, I love Rip and Beth just as much as the next person, but it’s no secret that they have quite the unorthodox and dysfunctional relationship.

Oh, and J-Lo loves that scene about how to get rich? The one where Beth tells the kid how to work hard or learn to “suck a d*ck like you lost your car keys in it?”

It’s an interesting one…

Of course, Affleck and Cole Hauser go way back, as the two starred in the 1992 film School Ties, the 1997 film Good Will Hunting, and also Dazed and Confused in 1993, so it’s probably just Ben poking some fun at his old buddy.

Matt Damon, who was also on the podcast, had some high praise for his friend Cole too, recalling their days filming School Ties together:

“To tell you the truth, I was always mystified that Cole wasn’t a giant movie star.

When we worked with him, he was 16, and I’ll never forget, we were driving back into Boston me and you in that old Cadiallac. We were leaving set for the first week, driving into Cambridge, and we’re like, ‘alright, leaving me and you out, who’s the f*cking best actor here?’

And both of us at the same time were like ‘Hauser.'”

Here’s a clip of the trio in Good Will Hunting, an all-time classic:

Ben added that Hauser has pure, raw talent:

“He was pure, raw talent.”

But as far as Yellowstone goes, Ben understands why American has fallen in love with his character with Rip.

“He is very convincing as that guy. I think America believes he is Rip. He’s perfect.”

But speaking of Yellowstone, I’m just really hoping Kevin Costner and the show can come to an agreement, and we get the second half of season five up and rolling by November at the latest.
