A man of the people.
Zach Bryan headlined two nights at Belly Up Aspen earlier this week, and it was an extra special show for one fan in particular, Wynne Williams.
He apparently ran into Zach when they were both arriving at the Aspen airport, and told Zach he wanted to catch the show while in town, but couldn’t manage to get tickets.
That’s when Zach noticed he had a saxophone in-hand, and told Wynne he could come to the concert Sunday evening if he agreed to play on stage with the band… of course, he said yes.
Wynn’s mom, Merrill, shared video from the show where Zach told the crowd how it all went down:
“Thank you guys so much. Hey, so I have a super funny story. I was in the Aspen airport when we landed, and I met this kid named Wynne.
And he rips, he had a saxophone with him. He was, ‘Hey man, I couldn’t get tickets to your show.’
And he had the saxophone and I was like, ‘Well, man, if you play the saxophone, you can come.’ And he was like, ‘Alright.'”
She also shared a few videos of Wynne crushing it in front of the sold-out Colorado crowd, where Zach had Wynne on during his customary closer “Revival,” where he always introduces the band and let’s them do a solo.
It always gets the crowd absolutely hyped up, and it one of my favorite parts of his live sets.
And like Zach says here, Wynne rips it and absolutely wowed the crowd with his solo. If you didn’t know he was a regular member of the band, you honestly would not know.
What a cool moment for him:
And not only that, but they invited him back to play again on Monday night, where Zach asked his mom if she knew “how good of a sax player” her son is.
I mean, I can’t imagine anything cooler for a Zach Bryan fan who’s a fellow musician…
Here’s a little bit of “Revival” from the second night:
Wynne also shared some photos and videos from the past few days, summing the experience up perfectly:
“The greatest day of my life.”
It’s such a classy and down to earth move from Zach, who’s arguably the hottest country star in the world right now, to invite a fan on stage to play with him and treat him like a pro.
It goes without saying, but it’s certainly a moment Wynne and his mom will never forget, either, I’m sure.
And Wynne looked like a natural on stage from what I could tell in those videos, so maybe if Zach’s ever looking for a full-time sax player, he’s already got a man for the job…
Zach has a break from the road until April when he’ll headline the Two Step Inn festival, then he’ll head out on his already sold-out Burn, Burn, Burn tour in May.
