Aaron Rodgers Is Going On An “Isolation Retreat” To Decide NFL Plans: “Four Days Of Complete Darkness”

Aaron Rodgers

And here we are again, right where we’ve found ourselves the past couple of years.

Back in 2021, it was no secret that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was not happy with the franchise, due to the fact that he didn’t get as much say as he would like when it came to team decisions.

Many thought that he was leaving Green Bay, many thought he was about to hang up his cleats for good.

However, he came back.

And then last year, the  guy played with our minds, posting an Instagram “appreciation” post that looked a lot like a retirement post, and he even teased some “big news” on the Pat McAfee Show (it turned out to be nothing).

And here we are in 2023, and we have absolutely no clue where the 39-year-old may end up.

Some thought that he was going to Las Vegas to reunite with former teammate Davante Adams. Some think he’s staying in Green Bay. Maybe the New York Jets, ala another former Packer great, Brett Favre. Others think he’ll just retire.

But, it turns out that Rodgers doesn’t even know what he’s doing.

He made his regular appearance on the McAfee show once again, where he said he’ll be taking an “isolation retreat” to make a decision.

He said on the show:

“I think it’s going to be important to get through this week and then to take my isolation retreat and just be able to contemplate all things my future and then make a decision I feel like is best for me moving forward and in the highest interest of my happiness and move forward.”

Rodgers also described his “isolation retreat” as:

“Four nights of complete darkness… It’s a darkness retreat. I’ve had a number of friends who’ve done it and had profound experiences.

It’s something that’s been on my radar for a few years now and thought it would be awesome to do regardless of where I was leaning after this season. It’s been on the calendar for months and months and months.”

He also added that there’s a slot in the door for food… you know, like jail.

No music, no phone, no journal, no nothing… just you, darkness, and complete silence.

God, what a hippie… I almost kinda love it.

One of the best quarterbacks in NFL history and he’s gonna spend some time in the offseason locked in a dark room trying to unlock the secrets of his own inner consciousness.

Does one take mushrooms on this darkness experience? I have so many questions…

Either way, I guess that means we may have a decision in the very near future.

But until then, we shall wait…
