Imagine somebody using your house to film a widely popular television show, and then all of the sudden people start showing up in your driveway to take pictures of it.

Pretty wild, huh?

Well, that’s pretty much how it goes for the owner of the real life Dutton Ranch.

Located in Darby, Montana, The Chief Joseph Ranch (the real name of the ranch) is an operating ranch that Yellowstone uses to film. They have horses and cows, and sell hay… but for a couple months every year, owner Owner Shane Libel allows his home to be turned into a set.

And now, Yellowstone is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the real life Dutton Ranch, featuring commentary from Shane himself, as well at a look into the transformation from set decorator Carla Curry.

And the best part?

You can actually rent a cabin on the property.

That’s right people, if you’re a fan of the show Yellowstone, you can actually spend the night on the Dutton Ranch.

While you can’t stay in the Dutton home itself, the Chief Joseph Ranch does rent out two cabins on the property: the Ben Cook Cabin (which is Rip’s cabin in Season 1 and Casey’s cabin in Season 2) and the Fisherman’s Cabin (which is Lee’s cabin in Season 1 and Season 2).

The Fisherman’s Cabin

Lee Dutton Cabin

Each cabin sleeps 8 guests and has a full kitchen and a grill.

You can contact them on their website to find the availability, but right now, you’re going to have to book them well in advance. With the show still filming each year, we might be looking at a pause on the rentals.

I mean, look at this place:

Man oh man, could you imagine?

Now that we’re getting ready for the second half of season five premiere coming this summer, imagine watching the show on the actual ranch the show is filmed on.

That’s some bucket list stuff right there.

In the meantime, be sure to check out our Yellowstone The Soundtrack Playlist, featuring every song from every episode, all the way through the mid-season finale of Season 5.
