Man, this oughta be a good one.

Jesse Daniel is quickly making a name for himself as one of the premiere acts in independent country music, from his deep cutting songwriting, to electric live shows.

The California native dropped his third studio album back in 2021, Beyond These Walls, which quickly became one of our favorite albums of the year, and I highly suggest you give it a listen if you aren’t familiar with Daniel yet.

And now, with that being said, the man is back at it again, as he’s gearing up to release his first ever live album, straight from his hometown.

The album, titled My Kind Of Country Live at The Catalyst, was recorded at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, California in front of a sold out crowd, one of the largest clubs in all of Santa Cruz, and it’s set to drop on March 24th.

Daniel himself weighed in on the opportunity to play in front of a large sold out crowd in his hometown:

“I grew up going to shows at Catalyst Club from a young age and I always dreamed of one day standing on that stage with a band of my own. I got my start at their tiny upstairs bar, playing to friends, family and whoever would listen…. even worked there as a stagehand and security.

At work, I’d see touring bands come and go, living out the dream I desperately wanted to make my own reality. That dream stayed by my side as I played every room that’d have me. Made my own flyers at FedEx and taped them shamelessly on every telephone pole, bulletin board and window in town. I’d busk downtown and tell folks passing to come to my shows.

I built a strong base of dedicated fans there who have supported me since the very beginning. Last year my dream became a reality when we had the opportunity to make our first ever live album at The Catalyst.

We played our hearts out for a sold-out crowd and captured it all. I can’t put into words how proud I am of this record, Jodi, my band and of all the people who helped make it happen. I’ll never forget where I came from and I’ll always be a Son of the San Lorenzo.

‘My Kind Of Country Live at The Catalyst’ is available for pre-order now and will be released on 3/24/2023.”

Needless to say, it was a great opportunity to give back to the town that molded him into the artist he is today.

Not to mention, it’s a great opportunity to catch a glimpse of what you can expect at one of Daniel’s concerts, if you haven’t had a chance to see him yet.
