Koe Wetzel Shares Behind The Scenes Look At Recording “Wasted” With Diplo, Including New Teaser Of The Song

Koe Wetzel, Diplo and Kodak Black walk into a recording studio…

And come up with a song called “Wasted,” that I’m hoping we’ll get to hear in its entirety in the near future.

Of course, if you’ve been keeping up, then you already know that Koe has been working on a tune with EDM/pop producer Diplo and rapper Kodak Black for quite a while now.

Diplo first hinted at the project back in June, with Koe confirming on the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast in August that it was actually happening, after we saw the three of them hanging out in Miami and filming what looks like a wild music video together.

And now, Koe’s giving us a behind the scenes look at part of the recording process for the track, from a recent trip to New York to lay down some vocals.

In one TikTok, you see him and Diplo (whose real name is Thomas Wesley) calling the CEO of Columbia Records to ask for permission on some of the lyrics for the song…

Though I’m fairly certain that if they let Koe include “Cabo” on his recent studio album Hell Paso, the line they’re inquiring about here would be a non-issue (and of course they were fine with it):

Koe also showed a little bit of himself in the booth, with a teaser of the studio cut of “Wasted” playing in the background that’s a different part of the song from what we’ve already heard:

“We’re here in New York finishing up a track with Diplo and Kodak.”

Diplo commented on the video:

“biggest song I ever worked on.”

Make sure you stay tuned for more on this…

And here’s the original teaser Diplo shared on his Instagram the other day:
