I couldn’t love this more.
Ashley Monroe shared a health update the other day on Instagram, as she was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer last year and has been in remission for a little while now.
She also posted a heartwarming video last December ringing the bell, signifying she was officially done with chemotherapy treatments, and then back in February of this year, gave another update saying her labs had come back totally clear.
And in a new video on Instagram, she shared that she recently had more tests and lab work done, and last month, they revealed that she is totally cancer free, which is absolutely incredible to hear:
“In June of 2021 I was diagnosed with a type of blood cancer called lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma. I vowed to give my recovery every ounce of fight I had in me.
In December of 2021 I rang the bell to celebrate surviving six long months of chemotherapy. Before my last appointment I bought these pants and promised myself I would wear them when I felt like ME again.
In November of 2022, my test results revealed that…I’m officially CANCER FREE. I want to thank my oncology team, my family, and my friends for supporting me through this season of my life. WE DID IT!!!!”
As you read in the caption above, she mentioned that she bought a pair of really amazing pants that she promised herself she would wear when she felt like herself again.
Well, it looks like that day finally came, and you can see some footage of her breaking them out and strutting around Vegas now that she had made a full recovery:
What a cool goal and perfect way to celebrate such a meaningful milestone in her life. I also need to know where she got those “comeback pants,” because I’m obsessed with them and that whole outfit…
Her friend and Pistol Annies bandmate Angaleena Presley left this comment on the video, and I don’t think a girl can really ask for much else:
“Remember when that lady was like, ‘your a$$ looks so good in those pants’ and you asked us if we paid her to say that during the comeback pants parade?
Uh, no… we didn’t… your rear looked THAT hot. Hahaha… I’m seriously SO grateful that you’re healthy and happy. Love you frand.”
During all the treatments she was going through, Ashley also somehow managed to put out her own Covers EP, as well as a Christmas album last year, Hell of a Holiday, with her girl band, Pistol Annies.
It goes without saying, but she’s a total badass, and I’m proud to have her representing women in country music.
