Cougar Goes Running Right Past Hiker On Boardwalk At Florida Nature Park

Yikes…

This is exactly what you don’t want to see while you’re out for an afternoon hike just trying to stay active and outside.

As someone who worked in the woods for a while, seeing a cougar is always in the back of your mind.

They are probably the most feared animal in our woods and there’s a good reason for it. They are absolute assassins of an animal… they hit fast and hard going right for the kill zone every time.

It’s rare that they don’t get the thing they are going after in a hunt because they are so precise and can’t stalk so quietly. And an attack is difficult to defend against since they always see you first.

They’re a large cat too, with toms weighing in up to 200 pounds but averaging more around 150 pounds. Mix in their massive claws and strong bite and you have an animal that is definitely a better fighter.

Basically, you don’t want to come face-to-face with one.

This woman had everyone’s fears come to life when she was out for a hike at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples, Florida. On a part of the trail with a boardwalk and railings a cougar started to approach.

The video shows the angry looking cat walk right up to her and just keep on going… perhaps just as scared of the face to face encounter.

Phew…

I mean, I broke a little sweat just watching this come up… had that animal decided to attack, it would’ve been game over.

She says:

“It was extremely surprising… I was hoping it wasn’t angry.”

Thankfully, it wasn’t.

That’s as close of an encounter you can have with any animal, let only one of the deadliest in North America.

Glad she made it out to tell the tale and show everyone this wild video.
