We’ve all been there before at some point in our lives.

We’re in a tough spot, and our minds tend to make things out to be way worse than they actually are, and next thing you know you’ve overthought a million different awful scenarios in your head.

Overthinking is everybody’s own worst enemy at some point, and some times we don’t even realize the stress we’ve put on ourselves.

With that being said, the famed actor and self-proclaimed philosopher himself, Matthew McConaughey, is once again here to help ease our minds.

In typical McConaughey fashion, he recalled a story from one of his old roommates in college, Samuel Monroe-Wills.

He talked about the time ol’ Samuel went home for Christmas break to visit family.

While he was home on break, he visited his great grandpa’s house, Mr. Monroe-Wills, who was 94-years-old at the time.

And he recalled:

“He said ‘Grandpappy, can you give me some advice for life?’ And his grandpappy says, ‘Oh yeah Monty. Best advice I can give you is this… I’ve had many crisis’s in my life…

And most of ’em? Never happened.'”

McConaughey then hits us with the subtle laugh, and drops the mic and walks off.

Truer words have never been spoken. Check it out:

Matthew McConaughey Shares His Secret To Organizing A Busy Schedule: “Write It Down!”

You can always count on Matthew McConaughey to ease the mind.

It’s no secret that Mr. Alright Alright Alright himself is not only one of the most famed actors in the world, but he’s also a pretty damn good philosopher.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, just checkout his Green Lights memoir he released back in 2020, and it’ll hit you like a freight train.

It’s pretty cool to see the man constantly set a little bit of time out of his busy schedule to share some info to his fans, whether it’s some cool stories from his life, what his favorite things to do are, and even sharing a few life hacks along the way.

And here’s the latest example.

If you’re an adult, you’ve more than likely stressed about a busy schedule coming up the following day, so much to the point where you have a hard time sleeping at night, as the wheels are turning in your brain 100 mph.

With that being said, McConaughey has one simple fix for that…

Just write it all down in a journal.

He shares:

“The night before, just write your to-do list down. Make it long.

Put fun stuff on there too, like have my first cup of coffee, hug my wife, call a friend, wear my favorite t-shirt.

Put fun, easy stuff on there, because what’s fun, the more stuff you get to cross off the next day. Did it!”

So, if you’re ever having a hard time trying to remember all of the stuff you have to do the next day, simply write it down.
