It looks like a need to book a plane ticket to California…

The BeachLife Ranch festival, which is held in Redondo Beach, California, from September 16th-18th, announced that they’re holding a special set with Shooter Jennings and friends that is strictly dedicated to the music of the outlaw country legend himself (and Shooter’s dad), Mr. Waylon Jennings.

Shooter is bringing along quite a few, very talented friends to pay tribute to his late father, too, including Lukas Nelson (son of another outlaw legend in Willie Nelson), Yelawolf, Devon Allman (son of Gregg Allman), The White Buffalo, and another special guest which they have yet to announce… my best guess is Waylon’s bestie Willie or his wife Jessi Colter, though, for whatever that’s worth.

If you live anywhere near the area, this sounds like it’s gonna be a can’t-miss day of live music.

I don’t think it gets any better than listening to the fantastic tunes of Waylon Jennings, performed by some of the best in the business right now, all day long:

“The WAYLON set on Saturday Sept 17 at BeachLife Ranch is going to be legendary!

Shooterj Jennings is bringing out some heavy hitters- Yelawolf , Lukas Nelson Devon Allman, The White Buffalo and a VERY VERY SPECIAL SURPRISE GUEST THAT WE CAN’T EVEN MENTION BC IT’S SO MASSIVE.

All Waylon tunes! The original outlaw. “

I’ve never heard of a festival doing anything like this, so if you’re lucky enough to be close enough to go and are as big a Waylon fan as I am, I’d highly suggest doing so.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now:

Here’s a look at the full lineup, which includes performances all weekend by The Lumineers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dierks Bentley, Ashley McBryde, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, Brandi Carlile, Drive-By Truckers and more:

And here’s Shooter performing “Lonesome, On’ry and Mean” with Waylons’ former band, Waymore’s Outlaws, back in 2012:
