Buc-ee’s may be becoming America’s favorite tourist attraction… And it’s only a gas station and convenience store.
However, if you aren’t familiar, this isn’t your basic gas station. Buc-ee’s contains world class barbecue, a massive number of toilets, parking spots, ice freezers, and fountain dispensers, along with boutiques, clothing, just about any snack you can think of, and so much more.
This is gas station Heaven right here.
The largest Buc-ee’s location in America has long stood in New Braunfels, Texas, sitting at a whopping 66,335 square feet.
Of course, records are meant to be broken, as the upcoming Sevierville, Tennessee and Johnstown, Colorado locations are expected to shatter the previous record, both planned to stand at 74,000 square feet, according to San Antonio.
With that being said, Texas had to regain the thrown, as they’re planning the new largest Buc-ee’s at 75,000 square feet, slated to locate in Luling, Texas, which is just under an hour from San Antonio.
Stan Beard, the director of real estate for Buc-ee’s, expressed his excitement for the new project:
“We are humbled to have this opportunity to strengthen our roots in Texas. (We) will continue to exceed our customers’ expectations every chance we get.”
Another Buc-ee’s is planned to open in nearby Boerne, Texas, but won’t be complete until 2025.
They’re building ’em so fast they can’t even break ground before another record-breaker is in the works.
Buc-ee’s Is Adding Its First Colorado Location In 2024
Buc-ee’s, the gas station chain that originated in Texas contains custom snacks, barbecue, drinks, car washes, home décor, and merchandise, is an experience unlike any other. It’s basically a gas station that’s like a Walmart.
For perspective, Buc-ee’s even holds world records, as its New Braunfels, Texas location is currently the largest convenience store in the world, standing at 66,335 square feet. The record for the world’s longest car wash an be found at its Katy, Texas location, with 255 feet of conveyor belt.
But if you live near Johnstown, Colorado, you’re in luck….
Because Buc-ee’s is coming to you by 2024 as the chain’s first ever Colorado location, according to 303 Magazine.
Buc-ee’s currently has over 40 locations in Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, and Alabama, and is in the process of expanding even further nationally.
