It’s still surreal to me that the Turnpike Troubadours are back on stage together, playing live music like it’s 2017 all over again.

Needless to say, this comeback has been one of biblical proportions, considering you have to donate an arm and a leg just to get tickets, and will easily go down as the greatest comeback of the 2020s (maybe all of the 2000s, but that’s my hot take).

Perhaps the best part about this comeback, is the fact that front man Evan Felker has confirmed that there is a new album in the works, so they aren’t missing a beat.

The groups has played a number of shows thus far in 2022, and have a jam packed festival schedule for the remainder of the year.

And their latest installment of shows?

They’re heading to Atlanta, Georgia.

The show is slated for October 29 at Pullman Yards in ATL, with presale beginning on Wednesday at 10 AM ET, and general onsale beginning on Friday at 10 AM ET.

This announcement marks their third gig in the southeast for 2022, joining their shows in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium July 29-30, and Raleigh, NC on October 28th.

Evan Felker Confirms Upcoming Turnpike Troubadours Album

When the Turnpike Troubadours first announced their return, the two questions on everybody’s minds were: 1) When can I see you live? And 2) Is there a new album coming out?

Right off the bat an unsubstantiated rumor started circulating that Turnpike had been working on a new album with Shooter Jennings producing, and that possibly Evan Felker had a solo album coming as well.

However, after we saw pictures of what appeared to be the boys at FAME Recording Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, it really got the wheels spinning.

However, Evan Felker has officially put those rumors to rest at Red Rocks Amphitheater this past weekend.

“I heard a rumor that we’ve been working on a record… and that rumor is true. I’m gonna play something new for ya”

Titled “Cat In The Rain,” Evan debuted the song the weekend before at the White Oak Music Hall in Houston, Texas.

Will the album be out this year? Who really knows… but it’s coming, and that’s good enough for me.

Get excited.
