Miranda Lambert debuted a new unreleased song from her upcoming record across the pond yesterday called “Actin’ Up,” and it only makes me more excited for her eighth studio album, Palomino, to finally be here.
She played it for the crowd at C2C fest, which she headlined yesterday. It’s also the reason she wasn’t at the ACM Awards in person to accept her Entertainer of the Year award on Monday.
The new album was co-produced by Miranda with Jon Randall and Luke Dick, and the 15-song tracklist even features a tune called “Music City Queen” with The B-52’s that I can’t wait to hear.
She also has plenty of other recognizable names as co-writers on the songs, including Luke and Natalie Hemby (who co-wrote her hit “Bluebird”), as well as Jack and Jon on quite a few others. There’s also a cover of Mick Jagger’s “Wandering Spirit” on there as well.
From what I’ve seen and heard so far on social media about her performance in London, it sounds like she’s living up to that EOTY already.
And she definitely burned down the stage with this rockin’ new anthem about doing whatever she wants, letting loose… and actin’ up:
