Brent Cobb has some big news coming our way…

We all know the man’s an incredible singer, songwriter, and all-around musician. But now, he’s trying add even more diversity to his music career, as he’s gearing up to drop his first ever gospel album, And Now, Let’s Turn To Page….

The project is slated for January 28th, and will consist of eight traditional gospel songs that molded Cobb from the young man from Ellaville, Georgia, to the man he is today, along with one of his originals, titled “When It’s My Time,” written by Cobb, his wife Layne, and Mike Harmeier of Mike And The Moonpies.

The closing track, “Blessed Be The Tie That Binds,” includes features from his wife, his mother Renee, his sister Alecia Grant, his father Patrick, and cousin, well-known producer Dave Cobb.

According to the man himself, the album was inspired after a potential life-threatening car wreck that involved him and his young son. He was at a four way stop, and got t-boned by another car, and he’s been counting his blessings to the good Lord ever since.

He reflected on the scary moment, and how it inspired the album:

“You just start piecing together how everything is sort of intentional…I’d always had it in the back of my mind to make a gospel album. That moment of clarity, of almost getting killed, made me think I should just make the gospel album now.

I’ve always wanted to make a southern gospel album because it’s what I come from, but also it used to seem like a rite of passage for country singers to make a gospel album. I’m just trying to carry on that torch.”

This is gonna be a good one.
