Brothers Osborne Frontman TJ Osborne Comes Out As Gay

For my money, Brothers Osborne are one of the best acts in country music.

TJ’s captivating baritone vocals, John’s unrivaled ability to pick a guitar, compelling songwriting and a killer live show, there aren’t many acts I’d rather go see than Brothers Osborne.

And now, after nearly 10 years in the business and three incredible albums, including the most recent Skeletons, frontman TJ is ready to tell the world… he is gay.

A new interview with Time Magazine, TJ revealed that this isn’t a new revelation for him, as his family and close friends have known for years, but at this point in his career, it was time to reveal his full self.

“I’m very comfortable being gay. I find myself being guarded for not wanting to talk about something that I personally don’t have a problem with. That feels so strange.

People will ask, ‘Why does this even need to be talked about?’ and personally, I agree with that. But for me to show up at an awards show with a man would be jaw-dropping to people. It wouldn’t be like, ‘Oh, cool!”

So what does this mean for their music? Nothing really… but TJ does admit that he hopes he will be able to be even more free in his creativity.

“It’s not that I want to write a song that starts… ‘Hey, boy…’ Just me doing that right there sounded awful, right? But the worst thing for creativity is to have boundaries.

I want to get to the height of my career being completely who I am… I mean, I am who I am, but I’ve kept a part of me muted, and it’s been stifling.”

John delivered the following message of love and support for his his brother today.

We’ve had the pleasure of hanging out with these two on more than one occasion over the course of their careers, and I can assure you that they are as gracious and kind as they are talented. Two of the best in the business for sure.

Congrats TJ, proud of you, man.
